Sport

At 3RCA we aim to have every student participate in at least one sporting activity per year. Any student who excels in our zonal competitions has the opportunity to move on to compete against the best both locally and nationally.

Our sporting program is designed to encourage participation, bring unity, promote team spirit, develop responsibility, encourage accountability, teach sportsmanship, and create a healthy lifestyle.

Our school is a member of the South African Christian Schools’ Sport Association (SACSSA) as well as the local School leagues.

We offer the following sports:

Swimming

Soccer

Netball

Volleyball

Table-Tennis

Athletics

Art and Culture

Children dance before they walk and run, they paint before they can write and singing facilitates early expression.

Art and creativity are essential for holistic education. Our school offers a variety of events where our children can both discover and develop their talent and leadership skills. These include:

Chess  –  Pace Bowl (Academic quiz)  –  Bible quiz  –  Creative Praise and worship  –  Poetry  –  Art Festivals  –  Science and Social Study Projects

Our students who are 13 years and older, have the opportunity to participate annually in the All Africa Student Convention (AASC) which is hosted annually by Accelerated Education Enterprises (AEE).

Learners may compete in over 170 disciplines including sport, cultural and academic activities against an average of 1200 teenagers from all over South Africa as well as the African continent. This convention takes place in Bloemfontein annually and learners prepare throughout the year for this exciting event. This “Student Olympics” is undoubtedly one of the greatest highlights of our students’ career. Learners who excel at the AASC may receive a nomination to attend the International Student Convention (ISC) in the United States of America.

Please view the video clip below to see a highlight sample of these Conventions…

Adventure Education

Outdoor adventure, promotes active learning through direct experience and develops leadership, risk taking, and problem solving skills.

Students learn to maximize their potential and work cooperatively with one another, all within a safe and environmentally friendly framework.

They are taken into the outdoors for these experiences, expeditions and camp-outs. Their intellectual, physical, spiritual, social and moral development will be challenged, resulting in personal growth and social awareness that develops skills for life and the world of work.
